Job description

The Imaging Informatics Administrator provides administration, governance, optimization, and strategic oversight of imaging informatics systems across Medical Imaging and Cardiology services. Serves as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for PACS, RIS, CVIS, VNA, Powerscribe, image exchange technologies, and related systems, while collaborating with clinical, operational, IT, and vendor partners to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient imaging workflows. Responsible for system administration, project leadership, vendor management, workflow optimization, disaster recovery planning, compliance activities, training programs, and oversight of the Imaging Informatics Analyst. Here is What You Will Be Doing:

  • Serves as primary administrator and system owner for PACS, RIS, CVIS, VNA, Powerscribe, image exchange solutions, and related imaging technologies.
  • Oversees daily operations, configuration, maintenance, performance, and optimization of imaging informatics systems across Medical Imaging and Cardiology service lines.
  • Leads imaging informatics projects including implementations, upgrades, integrations, workflow redesign initiatives, testing, validation, and system optimization efforts.
  • Establishes and maintains imaging informatics standards, governance practices, policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Oversees system security, user access management, regulatory compliance, data integrity, disaster recovery readiness, and business continuity planning
  • Manages vendor relationships, service agreements, project coordination, support escalations, and technology evaluations.
  • Monitors system performance metrics and develops recommendations to improve workflow efficiency, system reliability, and user experience.
  • Provides leadership and guidance for end-user education, training programs, competency development, and support activities.
  • Mentors and provides technical guidance to the Imaging Informatics Analyst.
  • Participates in capital planning, budgeting, contract reviews, technology evaluations, and enterprise imaging strategy discussions.
  • Serves as organizational subject matter expert for imaging informatics systems, DICOM, HL7, workflow integrations, and imaging interoperability.
  • Supports cybersecurity initiatives affecting imaging infrastructure and participates in compliance activities related to HIPAA, Joint Commission, CMS, and organizational standards.
  • Develops and maintains departmental downtime procedures, escalation pathways, and super-user training programs to minimize after-hours support needs and promote operational self-sufficiency.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Able to work effectively with diverse groups of people
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving ability quickly and effectively to resolve issues
  • Proficiency in DICOM, HL7, IHE, Crystal, Microsoft, SQL, PACS, RIS, EPIC, and all imaging related applications
  • Ability to work well under pressure and on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects

Here is What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Radiologic Sciences, or Cardiovascular Sciences.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in Medical Imaging, Cardiovascular Services, Imaging Informatics, Healthcare Information Technology, or related healthcare environment.
  • 24 months; Obtain Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) certification within twenty-four (24) months of starts date.
  • Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within fourteen (14) calendar days of start date.

Nice to Have:

  • PACS, RIS, CVIS, EPIC, Powerscribe, or healthcare application administration experience.
  • Experience leading system implementations, upgrades, workflow optimization projects, or vendor relationships.
  • Project management experience.
