Smartsheet Developer III

Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting complex Smartsheet-based solutions for the Senior Manager, Technology Systems & Automation. Serves as an advanced technical resource across the organization, translating business requirements into scalable workflows, dashboards, integrations, and automated solutions. Leverages expertise in Smartsheet, Python, APIs, and process automation to improve operational efficiency, data quality, and decision-making while establishing standards and best practices for enterprise solution development., Leadership and Direction

• Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert for Smartsheet architecture, development, governance, and administration.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on solution design, configuration standards, scalability, and automation strategies.
• Partner with the Senior Manager, Technology Systems & Automation to identify and prioritize automation opportunities that drive organizational value.
• Establish and maintain development standards, governance frameworks, templates, and best practices for Smartsheet solutions.
• Mentor users and junior developers on solution design, functionality, and effective use of Smartsheet capabilities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, platform enhancements, and integration opportunities to improve business processes and system capabilities.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, reporting, workflow optimization, and user adoption.

At the Operational and Company Level

• Lead the analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support of complex Smartsheet solutions across multiple business functions.
• Consult with stakeholders to gather requirements, define business processes, and develop scalable technical solutions.
• Design and maintain advanced sheets, reports, dashboards, WorkApps, forms, and automated workflows.
• Develop reusable solution frameworks, templates, and standards to support enterprise-wide consistency.
• Design, develop, and support integrations between Smartsheet and enterprise systems using Python, APIs, web services, and automation tools.
• Manage solution backlogs, requirements, and development activities utilizing Azure DevOps and Agile methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with organizational governance, security, data integrity, and documentation standards.
• Analyze business processes to identify automation opportunities and recommend technology-driven improvements.
• Collaborate with Operations, IT, and other business stakeholders to align solutions with strategic objectives.
• Develop reporting and analytics capabilities that provide actionable business insights and performance visibility

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Python scripts and applications for data integration, transformation, validation, and automation.
• Configure and support API integrations, data connections, and system interfaces between Smartsheet and other enterprise platforms.
• Perform data analysis, validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to resolve system and workflow issues.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system designs, process maps, and user guides.
• Provide end-user support, training, and knowledge transfer to ensure successful adoption of implemented solutions.
• Monitor solution performance and proactively identify improvement opportunities.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and development requests while maintaining quality, accuracy, and delivery commitments.

• Five or more (5+) years of experience developing solutions in Smartsheet.
• Advanced knowledge of Smartsheet platform capabilities, including Control Center, Data Shuttle, WorkApps, Dynamic View, DataMesh, dashboards, reports, forms, and workflow automation.
• Advanced proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, API integrations, and data transformation.
• Experience designing and supporting integrations between Smartsheet and enterprise business systems.
• Experience utilizing Azure DevOps or similar tools for Agile project management, backlog management, and solution lifecycle support preferred.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, web services, and systems integration concepts.
• Experience gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Knowledge of data governance, security controls, and system administration best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex solution development efforts with limited supervision.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and consulting skills.
• Smartsheet certification(s) preferred.
• Experience supporting operational, or project management processes preferred.
