Gabby Austen-Browne is a diversity and inclusion expert, delivering consultancy, education andtraining to the events and hospitality sectors in her role as founder & director of Diversity Alliance (andformally Diversity Ally) Gabby brings her breadth of experience as an events professional producingand delivering B2C events, managing venue operations and developing sales strategies for premiumhospitality venues, to inform, support and advise on D&I strategies that are relevant to the sector.Before moving to events, Gabrielle was a professional dance artist gaining a Masters in CommunityDance from Laban, focussing on delivering creative activities to marginalised communities, givingaccess to dance and performance to underrepresented groups including those with physical andlearning disabilities, older people, young people in pupil referral units and refugees.She worked with the Chickenshed Theatre Co. where she completed their diversity and inclusiontraining and went on to deliver workshops and facilitate sessions for practitioners on deliveringinclusive performance sessions and teaching performance in an inclusive way.Gabrielle has written about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for industry publications, guest lectured onDiversity & Inclusion in events and has appeared on many panels speaking about racial inequalityand diversity in the events industry. This led her to co-founding a Diverse Speaker Bureau,dedicated to nurturing and elevating the voices of people from underrepresented groups andsupporting businesses and organisations to diversify their speaker panels at events, ultimatelycontributing to the wider mission for equality, inclusion and representation. Gabrielle has writtenabout Diversity & Inclusion for industry publications and has appeared on many panels speakingabout racial inequality and diversity in the sector. She is also a judge for the C&IT awards 2022,CN Agency Awards 2022 and M&IT’s Tomorrow's Talent award 2022Currently a DEI committee member at Eventwell, in 2020 she was also made an ambassador for theFast Forward 15 mentorship programme, with the aim to encourage applications from more diversementees and mentors, specifically from underrepresented communities. Gabby is also co-founder ofthe REACH Scholarship programme working with Universities, to support Black, Asian and EthnicMinority events management students with living costs, to directly improve representation andaddress the talent pipeline at a grassroots level and is a Member of the MMU Events Connect AdvisoryGroup.All her work is underpinned by her experience and expertise in the health and wellbeing space.Gabrielle is a qualified yoga, meditation and breathwork teacher who brings these skills to createmindful, accessible and inclusive environments, when working with clients.
