Site Reliability Engineer (Microsoft Azure) at Siedle
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering role.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure DevOps, ARM templates, and Azure CLI.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud infrastructure best practices.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, CheckMK, Grafana).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration within Azure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Scope of Work
- Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. Implement and manage IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services, ensuring optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
- Monitoring and Incident Response: Develop and maintain comprehensive monitoring and alerting solutions using Azure Monitor, CheckMK, Grafana, Log Analytics, and Application Insights. Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Automation and CI/CD: Create and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, and Azure DevOps pipelines. Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize performance and reduce latency.
- Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the security team to ensure that cloud infrastructure adheres to best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, SOC 2). Implement security controls and ensure data protection across all Azure environments.
- Capacity Planning and Scaling: Perform capacity planning to ensure that cloud resources are appropriately sized for current and future needs. Implement auto-scaling and load balancing strategies to handle variable workloads.
- Disaster Recovery and Backup: Develop, implement, and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies. Ensure that data and systems are recoverable within defined SLAs.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with development, operations, and product teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of services. Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for critical issues.
